Do I have to buy a book to enter?
No purchase is necessary.
Can adults participate?
All ages can participate.
Can employees and the children of employees participate?
Powell's employees and their kids are welcome to participate but cannot use the $5-off coupon with their employee discount.
Can people participate from home?
Of course! You can download and print book logs or bingo cards from home, but they must be turned in at a Powell’s store, and prizes will only be given out in stores.
If I read more books, can I keep getting prizes?
Yes, you can play up to three times to receive up to three prizes, plus up to three chances to win more prizes in our end-of-the-program drawing.
If I read 5 books and fill out my bingo card, can I get my prizes and still continue to try to black out the whole card to get more prizes?
Yes. Just turn in stub #1 on the bingo card for your first five books and stub #2 for your blackout.
Can I black out my bingo card and submit both stubs to get two prizes, and then take another bingo card, read five more books, and fill out and submit another stub #1 to get a third prize?
Yes. You’d also get three different chances to win more prizes in our end-of-the-program drawing, including a chance for the blackout grand prize.
Can I fill out one line on three different bingo cards and get three prizes?
Yes. If you do this, you’d also get three different chances to win more prizes in our end-of-the-program drawing.
Can I complete three lines on one bingo card and get three prizes?
Yes. In order to also get three changes in our end-of-the-program drawing, you would need to retrieve two more bingo cards at the info desk and fill out and turn in three #1 stubs.
Can I black out three bingo cards and get three prizes and three chances for the grand prize?
Yes, and we'd commend you for being a super reader!
Why are the Powell's gift card prizes for kids less ($15) than for adults ($25)?
Kids' books generally cost less than books for adults.
How many $5-off vouchers can I use in a visit?
Limit one coupon per visit per reader.
